We are pleased to announce the opening of applications to our 2017 Fall Show. Show dates are Saturday, November 18, 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday, November 19, 10 AM to 4 PM. Setup is on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Our guild has outgrown our last venue and we are excited about our new show location at the Agnes Irwin School on Ithan Avenue in the heart of Rosemont, Pa., right on the Main Line, and close to Philadelphia.  Rosemont is in the heart of Radnor Township, which has a median household income of $100,208 and median house value of $577,809.

Booths will be 10 ft. X 10 ft., 10 ft. X 15 ft., or 10 ft. X 20 ft. Chapter Booths hosting multiple artists and shared booths between two artists are welcome. The space is a newer part of the school, a gymnasium which can generously hold 100 artists with 8 ft. aisles.

For this show to be a success, we have committed ourselves to an extensive marketing and publicity campaign. Our last show, we advertised with 40 publications both online and in print. 10,000 postcards were distributed throughout Delaware County. Directional signage and feather flags were utilized to direct customers.  In addition, we will be advertising in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Main Line Times, the News of Delaware County, Delaware County Times, County Line Magazine and the City Suburban.  Our Publicity Chairmen have organized a slew of additional publicity avenues to promote our show.  Individual artists participating in our shows are featured on our Facebook page.

We are looking for innovative artists of the highest caliber and would like to invite members of our sister chapters, other Craft Guilds and independent craftsmen and fine artists.  The show will be juried by the Standards Committee of the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen.

"Crafting Contexts" Call for Artists

Art In City Hall – City’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy in partnership with Craft NOW Philadelphia issues a call for artists for the upcoming 2017 fall season.

Crafting Contexts

October 9 – November 24, 2017 Tentative Reception Date: November 1st, following a press conference opening Philadelphia Craft Month in the Mayor’s Reception Room 202.

Submissions are due by August 18th, 4 p.m.

In 2017, Craft NOW Philadelphia presents the theme Fluid Boundaries: Exploring Intersections of Craft with Fine Art, Design and Making to visitors as a means of discovering how craft continues to evolve in the twenty-first century. Expanding on this theme, Art In City Hall issues a call for Crafting Contexts as its fall exhibition in Philadelphia’s historic City Hall.

Crafting Contexts seeks high quality two and three-dimensional handmade art that invites discourse and interpretation. Using materials or a mix of materials traditionally associated with craft (wood, clay, fiber, glass, metal, etc.) or nontraditional materials (found and upcycled objects, plastics...), artists are encouraged to explore personal or social contexts. This may include presenting craft as a reflection on contemporary issues. For example, it can serve as a critical tool that examines culture, immigration, the environment, current events or institutional traditions. Works can be utilitarian or otherwise, and all works are required to be handmade with the aim of fostering interaction or dialogue.



Craft NOW Philadelphia unites the leading institutions and artists of Philadelphia’s craft community in a celebration of the city’s rich legacy of craft, its internationally-recognized contemporary craft scene, and its important role as an incubator for arts based in wood, clay, fiber, metal and glass. Through both creating and spotlighting events during the week of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, Craft NOW invites locals and visitors alike to explore Philadelphia’s innovations in the world of the handmade.

Art in City Hall brings the people’s art to the people’s building, establishing a presence for the visual arts in one of the city’s most important civic spaces, and provides space for the local cultural community to display their work. City Hall showcases juried exhibits of professional and emerging local artists, arts and cultural institutions, community organizations and schools that utilize the arts in their programming. Encompassing a variety of mediums, techniques, and subjects, the program is committed to presenting a diversity of ideas and artistic explorations.

The Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy (OACCE) supports and promotes arts, culture and the creative industries; develops partnerships that ensure culture and creativity are essential components of the City’s community revitalization, education, and economic development strategies; and links Philadelphians to meaningful cultural resources and opportunities.

The Office manages and oversees City arts programs, provides policy advice to the Mayor and other Administration officials and serves as the primary point of municipal contact for local organizations, businesses, artists, and creative entrepreneurs. MSoP is pleased to announce our Annual

Members’ Exhibition for 2017



The curated exhibition runs May through July, 2017 at Salus University in Elkins Park, PA. Members can submit up to two pieces. Space is limited to 25-30 pieces depending on size. So enter early! At least one piece per member will be chosen for the show.

COME TO PARTY! All are invited to the Opening on May 21st, 1:30 to 3:30. This will also be our last meeting of the year and our birthday party! So come!

ENTRY PROCESS:  Entry Form and photos must be received by Thursday, April 20, 2017. Fill out the form in the prospectus and email it or mail it back to MSoP 2017 Members’ Show, PO Box 9012, Collingswood, New Jersey 08108. Email is the preferred way to receive your application. CLICK ON IMAGE ABOVE TO DOWNLOAD THE PROSPECTUS AND ENTRY FORM.

IMAGE ENTRY will be by JPEG digital files; review will be by digital image only, submitted by email attachment. Save your image with your last name, first name, title of piece. Send your digital image in an attachment to exhibits@mosaicsocietyofphiladelphia.org with the subject line:  Last name, first name, Title. High quality images (300 dpi at 4 inches wide) will best reflect your work.

FEE: No fee!

SIZE: Only ready to hang 2-D pieces (max 15 pounds) are eligible. All 2-D work must be securely wired and ready for hanging. The curator and her staff will be hanging the show.

SALES: Artwork can either be for sale or not for sale. Sales will be handled by the curator who will remit your check to you minus 25%. A donation to MSoP would be greatly appreciated if possible.

INSURANCE & LIABILITY: There is NO insurance coverage for injury, damaged property or other loss.
