Open to all! MSoP Members & Non-members

Thank you!

Thank you all for such great support at the General Meeting last Sunday. We are looking forward to the next meeting!

Congratulations, Sharon Ritz!

The Delaware County Symphony has chosen our members' beautiful mosaic "Dualing Violins" to grace the cover of this season's 2015-2016 brochure and program! Their season's theme is "Musical Mosaic"! How perfect! This 3D mosaic was created for a fundraiser for the New Haven Symphony and is now in a private collection.

MSoP General Meeting: Sunday, September 20, 2015

Location: Schoolhouse Senior Services Center 600 Swarthmore Ave. Folsom, PA 19033 Map

Time: 1pm - 3pm ( and an after the meeting gathering )

Speaker: Carol Shelkin: Color and Design in Mosaic (2D Principles)

Color and Design:  With certain colors you can set a mood, attract attention, or make a statement. You can use color to energize, or to decompress. By selecting the right color scheme in art, you can create elegance, warmth or calm. Color can be your most powerful design element if you learn to use it effectively.

General Meetings are where MSoP business gets conducted, information is shared and we learn new things from great presenters. This meeting is already looking pretty interesting, with updates and information for the coming year,  classes offered, trips, art opportunities, gathering and most of all...meeting people with the same interests!

ATC Exchange: Theme: Contrasting Colors! Create a mini mosaic Artist Trading Card ( 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" or  4" x 4" ). This is a miniature work of mosaic art that is created by you before the meeting, in the comfort of your own creative space, wrapped and traded during the mid-meeting break. Please place your name on the back of your artwork, so the receiver can thank you.

We welcome a new season of gathering and look forward to seeing all of the wonderful creations in mosaic you've created this past summer. Please bring in a mosaic you created to share.

You are welcome to bring goodies to share as well: cookies, cake, fruit etc. After the meeting, we will be able to linger a bit and chat with our friends.

And don't forget — 2015 membership fees are due!

ABOUT: Grounds for Sculpture

Originally part of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds, Grounds for Sculpture opened in 1992. This major sculpture park occupies thirty-five acres of landscaped sites, with more than 2,000 rose bushes, 1,000 trees, and numerous other flowers and shrubs planted to provide a beautiful setting for art. Waterways have been excavated to create topographical contours and backdrops for sculpture. The sculptures include unique works, some quite large, by some of the greatest artists in their fields. First we will see a short 12 minute film, then you will be able to walk with the group or wonder yourself with a provided MAP.
There are three locations to have a snack or lunch. Here's a link to the NEW! Peacock Cafe MENU
Please remember there is no outside food allowed in the park.
