Susan Kelly and Sharon Gross are sisters who have always enjoyed being creative together. Susan, an MSoP member is an established artist who studied at Tyler School of Art and continues her work at the Abington Art Center.  She will be showing her mosaics and photography here:

A Request from Meagan Corrado

Hi fellow MSOP members. I am planning an event on December 19th in conjunction with my dissertation project at Penn's School of Social Policy and Practice. For my project, I created a treatment for inner city youth who have experienced trauma (abuse, neglect, community violence, etc.). My treatment is called Storiez and its goal is to help youth talk about/draw about/creatively express their life stories. I am requesting your support with the Storiez event I will be hosting on December 19th. If you can help in any of the following ways, I would greatly appreciate it!

Contact me at mcphila31@gmail.com to volunteer for the event. I am looking for 4 volunteers who can assist participants in completing a community tempered glass project and individual small mosaic projects.

2) Donate any miscellaneous extra materials that you may have for the small individual mosaic projects participants will be creating (artist trading card sized substrates, "word beads," glass gems, fused glass pieces, etc.).

Recap … MSoP Meeting November 15th

A new meeting space, Bristol Center for the Arts, and lots of new faces were at our most recent MSoP event, held on November 15th.

After group business, announcements and show and tell/trading card exchange/ socializing/snack time, I had the pleasure of presenting a demonstration and discussion on the subject of Low Relief Substrates. Methods covered included: modeling wet clay in relief/ pattern making , using thinset and fiberglass fabric as a "fluid" substrate, applying plaster gauze on carved floral foam and over found objects and embedding beads into Celluclay paper mache. Lots covered to hopefully inspire you to try something new with your artwork!

Robyn Miller … Holiday Sale !

MSoP member and maker of whimsical ceramic tile vignettes Robyn Miller will be exhibiting work at her studio in the Stenton Arts Guild on December 5 (10am-5pm) & 6th (noon-4pm).

There are nine artists (painters! printmakers! fiber artists!) at the Guild…lots to oogle over (and lots of holiday gifts to buy !!)

Architectural Mosaic Weekend Intensive with our own JESSICA GORLIN LIDDELL!
