Mosaic Arts is, by definition, the gathering and organization of multiples, whose numbers rely on each other for strength and context. This exhibit presents the work of a group of 26 diverse and talented mosaic artists, exhibiting 38 pieces. All are members of the Mosaic Society of Philadelphia. For some, this is their first exhibited work.
Coordinated by MSoP members Carol Hemsley and Barbara Bix, working with Penn State's Suzanne Cruit, also an MSoP member, the exhibit will run through Dec. 6.
Katherine Narrow, an accomplished ceramic artist and educator whose many years of service at the Clay Studio has helped make her a Philadelphia art icon, juried the exhibit. Kathryn had the difficult task of reviewing all of the entries and choosing from them what she felt was a representative grouping of the variety of materials and styles that are mosaics.
The Mosaic Society of Philadelphia wishes to thank Penn State University for its support of mosaic arts in the region, and invites the public to visit the exhibit, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
