Participants will learn about Susan’s original process of breaking and cutting bottle glass, and get an overview of various aspects of the materials used. Susan will share some of her ideas about design concepts using bottle glass, and will discuss both visual and structural framing for glass mosaics. A sampler project will be made using a kit provided for the class.

Please bring your own safety glasses, glass cutter, and “mosaic tool box” if you have one. Please understand the sharp nature of broken glass and know that if you are not comfortable or are inexperienced in cutting flat glass this workshop is not appropriate for you.

Cost: $75 for MSoP members and $85 for non-members. 

The kit ($25 value) is included in the cost and contains:
  • two 6-inch squares of mirror/ one mounted on frame
  • at least 10 samples of colored bottle glass
  • tool to aid cutting 
  • patterns for cutting a variety of shapes
   • one tube of silicone adhesive 
   • grout for one project 
   • other useful mosaic accessories
