February 2017

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Bristol Borough Business Association is in the planning stages of our third season of First Fridays on the Delaware. Held from 5 to 8 pm during the months of May to September, our quaint and historic riverfront town closes down the streets of our main business district for a street festival.

Our previous seasons have been hugely successful, drawing upwards of 1500 people per event. Bristol Borough’s First Fridays was voted as ‘One of the Best’ in Bucks County Courier Times 2016 Best of Bucks contest in the following categories: Family Event, Summer Event, Outdoor Event, and Business Event, as well as being named a finalist in the 2016 Bucks Happening List in the Business/Chamber Event category.

Thanks to Deluxe Corporation and the Small Business Revolution, Bristol Borough has recently gained even more attention on a national level while competing for a $500,000 revitalization grant. Initially, we were one of eight towns selected from 14,000 entries, and then a finalist. After a week-long, country-wide voting frenzy, Historic Bristol Borough was declared the WINNER! In addition to the financial assistance awarded, our town will be featured in an 8-show series on Hulu this upcoming fall. We are extremely excited and grateful!

This year, we would like to introduce a “How To” feature amongst our “Art Walk” contributors. Various craftsman and artists are invited to display their works with the inclusion of a demonstration of their creative process. Without the demo, inclusion to vend at our First Fridays is $30 per event. However, those offering a demonstration are able to secure a space for free. Demonstrations should be about 10-15 minutes long explaining the step-by-step creative process with a potential hands-on component for interaction with participants. Demonstrations would be repeated, with appropriate breaks, for the duration of the 3-hour event. (Attached please find our artist/craftsman agreement containing more information.)

Knowing your organization partners with artists of the highest quality of design and workmanship, we would like to extend this opportunity to your membership. The recent growth of cultural and artistic events, venues and collaborations in Lower Bucks County including Historic Bristol Borough is evidence to the fact that true talent is appreciated and admired. Let us work together to bring professional artisans to Historic Bristol Borough for the benefit of our community and yours.

Please feel free to contact me @ 215-788-4288 or BristolBoroFirstFriday.Art@gmail.com if you have any questions. Thank you so much for your consideration and anticipated cooperation of passing on this news to your members.

Sincerely,
Marjorie Mott and the First Fridays on the Delaware Planning Committee
