The Mosaic Society of Philadelphia (MSOP) is celebrating its 15th birthday
Join us at Mount Airy Art Garage (MAAG) for a hands-on Mosaic Potpourri Playdate filled with creativity, community, and fun. Think of it as a mosaic buffet, a chance to sample techniques, experiment with materials, and follow your curiosity. To ensure that we have sufficient supplies on hand, we require advanced registration for this event. **What’s in Store**
It’s a Make & Take!
Each meeting attendee will create a summer flower or abstract design on a 5-inch ceramic fan tile. We’ll kick things off with a brief group tutorial, then move into four interactive, member-led arty stations. You’ll have the freedom to mix and match your time at each:
Shag Technique with Smalti (Carol Tinkleman)
Tinted Thinset Exploration (Carol Stirton-Broad)
Beads & Bezels Station (Robyn Miller)
Clear Stained Glass Play (TBD)
MSOP Will Provide:

Adhesive
Practice materials/tesserae
BYO Tools - Bring your favorite tools, and a little extra smalti if you have it:
Wheeled nippers
Tweezers
Apron
Optional: glass cutter and running pliers
Mini Mosaic Trade Theme: Picasso
You are invited to swap and showcase tiny artworks inspired by the theme of “Picasso”. Remember only those who bring a mini mosaic can participate in the trade. Please keep your pieces at or below 4”x 6. All entries should be wrapped so that the exchange is completely anonymous.
Show & Tell Table
Bring and display your work in progress or a finished piece! A relaxed way to spark conversation, exchange ideas, and celebrate each other's creative journeys.
Volunteer Acknowledgement and Volunteer of the Year Award
As in past years, MSoP will honor our members who give of their time and talents to help make MSoP the vibrant organization that we know. One individual whose service over the past year was exemplary will be honored as volunteer of the year.
Snacks, Beverages and Birthday Cake will be included in this meeting
Meeting attendees are welcome to provide additional snacks to share during our break.
