A new meeting space, Bristol Center for the Arts, and lots of new faces were at our most recent MSoP event, held on November 15th.
After group business, announcements and show and tell/trading card exchange/ socializing/snack time, I had the pleasure of presenting a demonstration and discussion on the subject of Low Relief Substrates. Methods covered included: modeling wet clay in relief/ pattern making , using thinset and fiberglass fabric as a "fluid" substrate, applying plaster gauze on carved floral foam and over found objects and embedding beads into Celluclay paper mache. Lots covered to hopefully inspire you to try something new with your artwork!
