Mosaic Society of Philadelphia Receives Grant from Power Home Remodeling (POWER)

to Fund Community Mosaic Project, Naming Perkins Center for the Arts as Partner

Philadelphia, PA – 9/2/2025 – The Mosaic Society of Philadelphia (MSoP) today

announced it has been awarded a grant of $10,000 from Power Home Remodeling (POWER) to

support a new community mosaic project. The grant will enable MSoP to collaborate with

Perkins Center for the Arts (Perkins) to create a vibrant, community-based public art installation.

This initiative is designed to foster interpersonal connections and strengthen the fabric of the

local community through shared creative expression.

POWER’s partnership with MSoP is part of the exterior home remodeler’s POWER for Good, a

set of employee-led initiatives that place POWER people at the center of its philanthropy.

Through giving circles, nonprofit nominations, and voting, POWER amplifies the vision and

voices of its employees to shape the entirety of its support to nonprofits across the country.

The project will be led by MSoP’s own Laura Lyn Stern, a seasoned mosaic artist with extensive

experience leading collaborative public art initiatives. Her creative leadership will guide

participants through the design and creation process, ensuring an inclusive and inspiring

experience for all involved.

“We are delighted, excited and incredibly grateful for the support from POWER. This funding

will allow us to bring groups of people together through community mosaic art and create a

sense of belonging and a lasting reminder of the power of community,” said Veronica Kairos,

President at MSoP. “We are thrilled to partner with Perkins Center for the Arts in this endeavor.

Perkins’ deep connections to the region will be invaluable in engaging residents in this creative

process.”

"At POWER, we see the potential in everything — our people, our customers’ homes, and the

communities we live and work in. Partnering with an organization like the Mosaic Society of

Philadelphia, who shares that same belief, makes this collaboration even more meaningful,” said

Jim Myers, POWER’s Director of Community Impact. “We’re proud to support a project that not

only enhances the local landscape, but also strengthens the connections within the region we

proudly call home.”

MSoP and Perkins are currently working to identify both the installation site and community

participants. The project invites individuals of all backgrounds to contribute their voices and

creativity, reinforcing the belief that art can be a powerful connector.

“Perkins Center for the Arts is proud to partner with the Mosaic Society of Philadelphia in a

shared mission to bring communities together through arts experiences,” says Kahra Buss,

Executive Director of Perkins, “We are grateful for the support from POWER that makes this

collaboration possible, and we look forward to fostering a truly creative and inspiring experience

for all involved.”

How to Get Involved: Details about participation opportunities—ranging from hands-on mosaic

work to storytelling and event support—will be shared in the coming months.
